Charlie Chan and his oldest son are in China to investigate an opium ring. At a banquet in Chan's honor, a murder occurs. While investigating, Chan and his son are kidnapped. They are able to escape and then work their way through complicated clues to expose the smugglers.

Warner Oland submitted by willow on August 19, 2015, 9:11am Swedish-American Warner Oland was seen as having an exotic look appropriate for playing Chinese-American detective Charlie Chan, who often traveled the world solving crimes. In this one, he and his son (played by Keye Luke ) head to China.
