Funny feminists

This humorous comic follows the lives and loves of a collection of quirky characters, most of whom are lesbians. It’s interesting to read the strip in its collected volumes from beginning to end and watch how Bechdel’s style changes and becomes more refined over time. Her style reminds me a little of Marjane Satrapi’s “Persepolis.”
One famous strip from 1985 spawned what is called the Bechdel Test, or the Mo Movie Method. In the strip, a character states that she will only watch a movie if it meets three conditions; 1. It contains at least two women 2. who talk to each other 3. about something besides men. The Bechdel test has inspired a number of websites to examine movies in light of these three conditions and compile lists of movies that do (and don’t) pass the test.
Here's the link to the original strip. http://dykestowatchoutfor.com/the-rule
