The recipes here are very good and well thought out, and include a range of grains -- not just whole wheat. There are spelt and rye and so forth as well. There are some good tricks to combating the tannic bite of whole wheat.
I think there are basically two kinds of bakers seeking whole grain cookbooks: those who want 100% whole wheat, and are accepting of the dense texture this may bring -- this is the type that thrived during the 1980s, and those who want a lighter texture and are more open to including white flour. This book caters to the latter category.
