COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A fun read submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 20, 2012, 3:19pm I highly enjoyed all the Artemis Fowl books and recommend them to everyone. Although Eoin Colfer wrote them for teens, adults will find them (and cracking the code) entertaining as well. Artemis starts out as a hyperbole of the super-smart, super-rich, self-centered jerk who always gets his way and cares for no one but himself (and possibly his close family), the description is meant as a satire of similar characters in this genre. (SPOILER ALERT) He grows and matures throughout the series, so read them all or listen to them on CD.

Just as good! submitted by juju6471 on July 10, 2013, 3:58pm This book is just as good as any other book!

not exactly what it seems submitted by camelsamba on July 11, 2013, 6:10pm I tried to read (or maybe listen to?) this once, many years ago - I didn't even get through the first chapter before I gave up. So when 9yo recently asked me to read it to him, I was not enthusiastic - until Holly entered the book, and I realized the plot is not at all what I thought. The initial few chapters make you think it's all out a hard-core teen-aged criminal, but then the fairies get involved. The story is fun, although a bit too much - gore, villainy, whatever - at times.
