Cover Songs and a Loose Storyline submitted by Meginator on August 11, 2019, 10:12pm This album consists primarily of Beach Boys covers, held together by a (very) loose storyline featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy. The cover band does a pretty good job considering how iconic the original tracks are, and the song introductions range from inane and out-of-nowhere (“Be True to Your School”) to the hilariously literal (“Help Me Rhonda”). The Beach Boys’ originals are, obviously, far superior and appropriate for this target age group (the changed lyrics of “Sloop John B” threw me for a second), but this version of their biggest hits is entertaining enough for what it is.
