an architectural farce submitted by ellemef on July 14, 2014, 8:39am M. Hulot goes from the old world to the new in this gentle comedy. Don't be afraid of the French; there is little dialog and most of the humor is visual. Tati gives us a look at changing times through Hulot's eyes, contrasting the cold and automated future with the warm and sentimental past. There are many laugh out loud scenes, in particular, the garden party is absolutely hilarious.

Great little movie, charming.. reminds us of far simpler, more innocent times.. submitted by Tassos on December 28, 2022, 3:15pm See it for the second time now.
