Faith, in extremis submitted by pkooger on August 16, 2012, 2:16pm It is quite common in the Bible for people to hear the voice of God commanding them to commit acts of violence and wanton destruction, sometimes seemingly for no better reason than to prove one's faith. Take for example the story of Abraham, Isaac, and the sacrificial ram. Abraham hears the voice of God commanding him to kill his son as a sacrifice. Abraham is understandably distraught, but obediently sets out to murder his son. God changes His mind at the last minute, but what if He hadn't?

In Frailty, an otherwise decent and honorable man begins to receive divine instructions to kill the demons among us. This troubles his son, who is forced to participate in what is from his perspective a series of unprovoked murders. The movie is fascinating and tense right up until the very end. My only problem is the ending. Things got a little... hazy at the end. Unclear. Watch it for yourself and see if you get what I'm talking about.
