Downtrodden detective Erlendur and his team must once again look into Reykjavik's hidden past to unravel a case of human nastiness. Alive with tension and atmosphere, and disturbingly real, this is an outstanding continuation of the Reykjavik Murder Mysteries.

a great series

I loved this book! It's part of a great nordic fiction series. I HIGHLY recommend the Erlender books, particularly the first three (this one and Jar City & Voices.)

Great Book

This is a great book that takes place during WWII.

Loved it!

I'm a big mystery fan and I particularly like Scandinavian authors and this author is one of the best. Clean, spare writing is combined with a plot that immerses the reader in the problems of the various characters. The setting is Reykjavík during WWII and in contemporary times. I can't wait to read another of his books!
