In comes Claire and Molly's life is turned upside down by the usually well meaning but off-the-mark Claire, who insists on things being done the proper way. Great mini series submitted by jensanch on March 12, 2011, 8:39pm I have never actually heard of this story but am obsessed with BBC mini-series at the moment and really enjoyed Wives & Daughters. The storyline is interesting, captivating, and funny and the acting is excellent. I really believed in this story and could not get enough of it. I would definitely recommend this mini-series for anyone interested in this genre (meaning, Jane Austen-type genre).

Loved it! submitted by smgop on July 17, 2013, 8:15pm I have never been disappointed with BBC adaptations of Gaskell's books - this one is wonderful. Love the rich, intricate family relationships and the example of true self-sacrificial love.

Molly Gibson Please... submitted by Kikumatsu97 on June 24, 2015, 6:15pm I Love this series! It's so enlivened with the frustrating spirit of unrequited love and is totally engaging! The wardrobe is impeccable! I must say, even though it's not entirely meant to be so significant Michael Gambon's Squire Hamley is one of his best roles and makes a great impression of what an elderly male role for someone in his not oft written about role as a squire. I think the emotion and believable plot of this story is one of the reasons I love it. I am forever girl crushing Justine Waddell for her dainty British innocence portrayed in this story. Watch this if you love the BBC series in all their glory!
