Cozy and Atmospheric! submitted by KristinL on July 7, 2011, 4:25pm The Hamish MacBeth TV Series is based off of the popular mystery novels by M.C. Beaton. The television series and the novels have very few similarities other than Hamish himself and the setting of Lochdubh but fans of the novel series will not be disappointed! The series is certainly set in the 90's as you can tell by the hair and outfits and it has a Northern Exposure feel to it. The town is full of quirky people doing quirky things and mysteries get solved. What more could you want!?

It's surprisingly deep and emotional yet maintains its charm as a quirky Scottish mystery. The characters will make lasting impressions on you and the local debauchery is certainly hilarious!
