Da Vinci Code Readalike submitted by Aldous on January 29, 2007, 2:44pm Juxtaposing a tale from today and a tale from the thirteenth century, the two parallel stories of this romantic thriller feature labyrinths, secret rings, three mystical books (the Book of Words, the Book of Numbers, and the Book of Potions), the Grail, and the Cathars in southern France. Though the characterization is slim and simplistic, the plot carries this Da Vinci Code-ish battle of good and evil. The thirteenth century part offers a wealth of interesting detail about daily life in the castle and the surrounding town of Carcassonne near the Pyrenees.

Great Read submitted by jaimonr on August 30, 2013, 8:01pm Labyrinth a story of two women in pursuit of the holy grail. There is a lot of time travel, Catharism, Crusades and witch craft.

Since the book came out a mini series of the story has been done by Ridley Scott and Tony Scott on-location in the medieval town of Carcassonne in southwest France and Cape Town, South Africa.

Good submitted by zmclaugh on July 27, 2018, 9:10pm An engaging story woven between two time periods. Maybe it's cheesy, but I really enjoyed reading this.

Much better than The Da Vinci Code submitted by vickik on August 26, 2022, 10:54am Labyrinth tells the story of two women, in two different times (1209 and 2005), and their quest for a secret of immense power. On an archaeological dig in the south of France, Alice finds two skeletons and a mysterious carving of a labyrinth on a wall, and begins experiencing visions of a past life. Her story is intertwined with that of Alaïs, a young woman in medieval Carcassonne, whose father is a guardian of one of three manuscripts that contain the secret of the Holy Grail. The plot is similar to The Da Vinci Code, but Labyrinth is much better written.
