Da Vinci Code Readalike
Juxtaposing a tale from today and a tale from the thirteenth century, the two parallel stories of this romantic thriller feature labyrinths, secret rings, three mystical books (the Book of Words, the Book of Numbers, and the Book of Potions), the Grail, and the Cathars in southern France. Though the characterization is slim and simplistic, the plot carries this Da Vinci Code-ish battle of good and evil. The thirteenth century part offers a wealth of interesting detail about daily life in the castle and the surrounding town of Carcassonne near the Pyrenees.
