Fantastic! submitted by rimpopu on July 28, 2013, 6:57am It is read by the author and illustrator of the book Arnold Lobel. The pace of reading is good to keep up with the book. Although the book is more for older kindergarteners to 2nd Graders, the CD reading is slow enough to keep the interest of enthusiastic younger readers as well. However, at 64 pages the book is too long, and the illustrations are not colorful enough to keep the interest of preschoolers. Each of the Frog and Toad books have five stories in them. This one also has five stories: Spring, The Story, A Lost Button, A Swim, and The Letter. If you have never read a Frog and Toad story before then it is worth getting it and reading it at least once. Frog is more of a jolly fellow than Toad who tends to be serious. These books were written in the 1970s. You can tell by the costume of the characters. The stories are mild humored and give a sense of general good feeling.
