Narrated by Kevin R. Free.
Growing up in Eureka, Mississippi in 1950, Lee is confused about his place in the world, but he doesn't let it get him down. He falls for the beautiful Angelina, whose racist father drives him to a new life in St. Louis as a white man. Soon he's drafted into the psych-corps in Nevada for the Vietnam War. A drunken accident forces him to accept yet another completely different identity, but easy-going Lee just takes it all in stride, ready to move on to the next absurd adventure.
COMMUNITY REVIEWS
American Fable submitted by raymondw on July 15, 2015, 4:22pm Kevin Free provides the perfect voice for Cotton in this fable about an American who experiences almost every form of discrimination and prejudice in American society. The story is sometimes hilarious, and at other times it is heartbreaking. It is a story that I will long remember. The audio version is highly recommended.
