Yeah, baby! submitted by KidBlue on October 14, 2017, 9:57am The track Sing Sing Sing gets my vote for the single most exciting instrumental jazz track ever recorded. It was recorded live, and features Harry James on trumpet and Gene Krupa on drums and of course Benny Goodman on clarinet.
The other tracks are terrific too.

Clarinet-Led Big Band submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2022, 6:49pm This album of early Big Band music often features the clarinet, which is fairly unusual in non-orchestral music, and it gives Benny Goodman’s ensemble a unique sound that still sounds a little bit different from everything else. Though the songs is a bit formulaic by today’s standards, they are built around memorable grooves and melodies with excellent orchestration that allows different instruments to come to the fore on the various tracks. This is energetic, vibrant music that has had a lasting influence on jazz and other genres, and it is well worth revisiting today for a satisfying dose of swing.
