Growing up Korean-American in LA submitted by edwardvielmetti on January 23, 2007, 8:41pm On our temporary cookbook shelf - for those cookbooks that you cook from a few times but keep unspattered so they can go back to the library - is Cecilia Lee's "Eating Korean" (AADL).

It's one part Korean or Korean-American cookbook and one part food memoir about growing up Korean in Los Angeles. The writing is really good, the stories are fun, and every recipe is put in some kind of story about how the dish is part of the cultures.

Fun to read, but for this vegetarian household not one to go out and buy - the Korean diet is not in this cookbook at least a particularly vegetarian-focused one.
