Cool photos submitted by samanthar on June 22, 2017, 11:36am The book showcases photographs taken by polaroid and hand altered. They are very interesting in themselves, but the fact that they are of local Ann Arbor spots makes them even more cool!

Through a Polaroid Swirly submitted by Meginator on August 1, 2022, 3:33pm These photographs offer an intriguing new perspective on many familiar Ann Arbor sights with distorted and swirling colors, almost as though viewing them through a watery fog. Though the same effect is repeated across all of the images, the different types of settings produce strikingly different effects. Some, like the Big House, almost feel like oil paintings, while others seem barely changed from their photographic images. The artist’s choice of subjects is fantastic, ranging from portraiture (longtime residents will recognize Shakey Jake) to views of landmarks that no longer exist or exist now in a greatly altered form. I recommend this for anyone who appreciates the ways that art can alter our perspectives on what we see and experience every day.
