Meh.. submitted by rimpopu on July 29, 2013, 11:29am The thing that turned me off the most about this book is the illustration. Even page looks blotchy and messy as the artist just wanted to fill all the empty places with water color. The frog doesn't look like a frog as the book progresses. It was a little difficult for my 3 year old to distinguish all the different bugs especially those inside the frog's belly. She kept asking 'where is it'. The purpose behind the story seems to learn counting forward upto 5 and then backward to 1. It could have been illustrated better to make it attractive. Even if you ignore the yuck factor when all the bugs come out of frog's mouth, it is not an interesting story to practice counting. For older kids who are able to distinguish the different bugs, understand or laugh out loud at the yuck factor the counting is too less as it is only upto 5. Hardcore froggy fans and those who enjoy humor in all sorts of book would like this but I wouldn't recommend it.
