Great Audiobook submitted by Sara W on July 1, 2011, 2:47pm Nonfiction can be very dry on audio, but Devil in the White City is a great example of an engaging nonfiction audiobook. The storytelling manages to be in-depth and detailed without losing the interest of the audience.

Also, I'm a scaredy-cat. Like crazy. But somehow, this is a detailed story about a serial killer that I found interesting instead of terrifying.

The backdrop of the Chicago World's Fair is fascinating in its own way, directing the reader's attention to the suspense of accomplishing the huge ordeal of building the White City in a limited time period.

Good Book submitted by ekharris on August 6, 2018, 11:54am This audio book is long, but great. If you like learning about true crime, this one is for you! Be ready to learn of the horrors that unfolded at the hands of H.H. Holmes.

So much information! submitted by lmangus on August 29, 2021, 11:19pm Research, research, research...and it paid off. The shifting between the story of the World Fair, and Holmes keeps the book moving. Had no idea, all that went into this event. Or Holmes disturbing story.
