An emotionally & spiritually comatose suburban man decides "to hell with it all" and reverts to living as he did when he was happiest--as a carefree teenager. His desperately uptight wife and sullen daughter can only look on as he quits his corporate job to become a burger flipper, starts getting high with a strange new neighbor (whose parents are even stranger) and lusts after a pouty blonde teenager--his daughter's best friend.

A believable story submitted by ccrose on August 31, 2019, 9:57am There’s a bit of cartoonishness at the opening shots, suburban streets cleans as China, green lawns all buzz cut to perfection. That’s on the outside. But families who live in that perfect world are emotionally lost and their children know it. It feels familiar, like you know one or two of these people.
Two teenagers fall in love, watching their parents go psycho. An improbable moment of beauty and mystery is my favorite moment: the boy shows the girl a video he shot, simply filming a plastic bag thrust and float in an invisible breeze. Like a dancer it leaps and drops. I wish I knew how the screenplay writer conceived that one image. It serves to show these two are in tune with something bigger than themselves and their parents sure aren’t.
