When he was just a cook submitted by ALEXPHERRERO on July 29, 2016, 8:54am Most people know Bourdain as that guy who starts criticizing other cultures for their intolerance of alcohol. Well, this predates that. A Cook's Tour dates back to when he was just a New York City chef, only beginning to recognize the differences in culture across the globe. Likewise, this book is flooded with epiphanies. Just like in No Reservations, Bourdain is just as vocal with his opinions and doesn't ever say something just for the sake of being polite. Actually, his personality is even more raw in this book. It's just that he seems more critical in No Reservations due to producers wanting him to exaggerate his personality for better ratings.
