wonderful series launch submitted by pamhockey25 on August 25, 2011, 10:56am Elena Michaels is the only female werewolf in the world. Being a werewolf is a trait passed from father to son, women are rarely werewolves. This book describes how Elena became one and everything she went through in adjusting to the situation. Elena is a wonderful character. She's not always likable, but she's real. She is a reluctant werewolf who longs to be human. This is the first in a series, and we also meet Clayton, Jeremy, Antonio and Nick. I love the way this author, Kelley Armstrong, builds the history of her characters, and look forward to more installments in the series.

Rawr submitted by nicole on June 18, 2013, 3:52pm An interesting premise, and very well-written. I stopped reading the series after the books switched perspectives, but I read one of the later books from Elena's perspective (Frostbitten) and it was just as good as the first. Not something I can say about many series'.
