COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Great twist on a classic tale submitted by cbrewster on August 19, 2013, 5:27pm This book won the "Charlotte Zolotow Award" which is given for the best writing in a picture book. I enjoy this version much more than the original "Jack and the Beanstalk" which it is based on. I especially like that the author has made the main character a female, and a story and clever female at that. And instead of her stealing things from the giant, the girls uses her wit to outsmart him and win his money in bets that they make. Great story for youg girls in particular.
