The Good Old Days of Alternative Christian Rock submitted by Meginator on August 9, 2019, 5:27pm This album hails from the heyday of mid-1990s alternative Christian rock, exploring religious themes with humor, honesty, and a slight edge both musically and lyrically. The overall sound may be (necessarily) dated now, but the band is as good as any of their contemporary secular counterparts, with high quality tracks extending beyond super-successful single “Chevette” (which still effectively evokes first-car nostalgia) and a cameo by the Supertones’ horn section on “Blitz”. This is a really strong album from a great (yet sadly bygone) era.
