Mostly Average submitted by SBNB on June 20, 2012, 8:51pm I'm not sure what I was looking for, but this book (mostly) wasn't it. The recipes, I'm sure, are good enough, but it's really just your average dessert cookbook. HOWEVER, the sections titled Old-World Favorites and Sweeten The Scene have some original ideas. In Old-World Favorites, there are recipes from all over the world, some of which I had seen and some of which were new. In Sweeten The Scene, there were ideas and patterns for different gingerbread houses (including a Victorian and a log cabin), tips for making sugar cookie ornaments, and instructions for an interesting and colorful bargello cookie. All in all, it's not worth buying, but it might be worth a look.
