Bluegrass Stalwarts submitted by Meginator on July 11, 2021, 12:33pm This album features three bluegrass masters in their element, singing songs that tell stories tinged with sly, self-deprecating humor and, occasionally, a hint of wistfulness. The trio and their supporting musicians form a seamless, cohesive unit, and each instrument and voice feels necessary to the entire picture, with not a note or flourish wasted. It’s a very straightforward way of performing, but it’s effective and works particularly well for the genre, paying homage to bluegrass’s old-time roots.
