I have read tons of asterix. they are all good books
Happy Pirates submitted by Pumpkinscones on July 4, 2013, 9:45am This is my favourite of the Asterix series. It sees the pair travelling Gaul attempting to do something they never have to do - make money. Gladiators, the perils of gambling, tax collecting and theatre are all explored by the duo (trio with Dogmatix). Not all the best loved tropes are in this one but we do see: casual violence, ridiculous wordplay - particularly names, Obelix not understanding he is fat, the pirates, wild boars and of course the final feast. My other favourites in the series would be: Switzerland, the legionary, Corsica, Great Crossing, Chieftan's Shield and Obelix and Co.
