Poppy submitted by Ying Zh on July 1, 2011, 10:01am I think this book is very charming how Poppy slays the great owl for her revenge for Ragweed. I think the author made a good choice choosing a porcupine for a friend; for no one would have guessed that she as a mouse would befriend such a feared and unknown creature.

Cute, with a great lesson submitted by jtmaxwell on August 23, 2011, 6:20am Through the use of woodland animals, Avi teaches readers to think for themselves, problem solve, and to be brave, even when no one thinks you can accomplish something! A great, quick read.

Awesome submitted by tomiwa on June 16, 2013, 1:18pm The book is really good, and I think positive thoughts about it, but being a amateur ornithologist (someone who studies birds) I find it sad that Mr. Ocax had to be the antagonist in the story. Other than that, it was a really good book.

great book! submitted by rgarciat on June 30, 2018, 1:49pm this book really shows emotional feelings. It shows friendship.it has great lessons. Mr.Ocax has feared a statue of an owl. Ereth, the porcupine can be in grave danger if she doesn't stop eating salt. Poppy and Ereth are friends.

Amazing submitted by Claireywang on July 25, 2018, 1:21pm I’d rate it 100 out of 5 but I can’t..... all I can say is YOU'D BETTER READ THE BOOK!

Well written submitted by hart on June 12, 2021, 7:37am I love the story line, the bravery shown, and the great vocabulary.
