COMMUNITY REVIEWS

I love Dar Williams! submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 23, 2012, 2:54pm In her first album available on CD, Dar Williams brings us several folk-style songs she wrote, many based on her own life experiences and some based on what she sees in others. The CD begins with "When I was a boy" about sexism and gender roles, then "Alleluia" about a kid who died in a car crash and is now acting rebellious in heaven. The album continues with songs about her favorite childhood babysitter, break-ups, the artist Mark Rothko (who committed suicide), and nuclear energy and nuclear weapons. Dar Williams is an outspoken feminist, Pagan and environmentalist who does not hide her views or her spirituality.

The first and best submitted by SurfGrape on June 15, 2014, 12:16pm This is, in my opinion, both the best Dar Williams album and a great place to start if you've never listened to any of her songs before.
