Lovely listening submitted by terpsichore17 on August 13, 2019, 5:02pm This is categorized as "Folk music," which is sort of true - they use traditional texts - but "Sacred choruses" describes it more effectively. McGlynn is leading a choir of beautifully clear voices for a truly numinous effect.

Most of the music sounds rather sorrowful, but Bean Phaidin/An poc ar buile and Fionnghuala are both more fast-paced and lighthearted.
