Great start to a great series submitted by audreyh on June 13, 2015, 1:02pm This was the first book by Pierce that I ever read, so it will always have a special place in my heart. I was immediately enthralled with Daine, her emerging powers, and the epic conflict she is caught up in.

Fun Fantasy Novel submitted by MollyWiding on July 31, 2020, 3:54pm What little girl doesn't want to talk to animals? This book is cute and fun but also touches on serious topics like child abandonment. It's a sweet story and a good start to the series.
