Native American Cinderella submitted by cbrewster on August 14, 2013, 12:12am Native American version of Cinderella. I loved this story as a child and was really pleased when my child enjoyed the story too! Very beautiful illustrations and is a fun alternative to the original fairytale. I liked discussing with my child the differences between the different versions of this classic.

Beautifully illustrated tale. submitted by gulickb on April 14, 2015, 9:26am This book is a tale of three sisters, two cruel and proud one hardworking and humble, and an invisible man who can only be married by someone who has seen him. The two proud sisters fail and the hardworking one who is scarred by her work at the fire succeeds. The story follows a familiar oral tradition similar to some of the stories found in books of folk and fairy tales. It captures this tale in a way that is both aesthetically pleasing, because of the illustrations, but also in a way that resonates with the innate storytelling that all cultures share. By following this style of storytelling The Rough-Faced Girl is able to give a window into the culture that told the story.
