Solid science submitted by camelsamba on July 23, 2014, 10:56pm This book from the "Let's Read and Find Out" series presents solid basic science about fireflies in the context of a girl visiting her grandparents. There are a few anecdotes about how fireflies have been used in other countries and other times. The illustrations are pastels and the luminescence of the fireflies is nicely done (people, on the other hand, are slightly awkward looking).
