I'm always impressed by Ma and Pa's resourcefulness in this book and how well they manage as a family. They each possess such patience, even darling Laura, who we all know is not a patient person.

An exciting story of courage and perseverance as Laura and her community face overwhelming amounts of snow as well as food shortages.

Awesome Classic submitted by TLW1998 on June 23, 2022, 11:19pm One of the best books that I have ever read. Laura has a charming way of writing. She is a great story teller, and her stories really paint a picture of what it was like to live as an early American pioneer. My 5-6 year old daughter and I loved reading the entire Little House series together. The books are very enjoyable and educational too. I highly recommend reading the entire collection. This book focuses on the long and hard winter that they survived in South Dakota.
