If the bomb had not been dropped on Japan, the US would lose ONE MILLION Soldiers in an invasion. submitted by Tassos on January 27, 2024, 8:04pm So, clueless tarascon, you should be thankful for the pioneers at Los Alamos.

As for the movie, everybody loved it, but it cut no ice with me. It was RIDICULOUS in its treatment of the science AND in the VERY POOR resemblance of scientists and their spouses to the real persons. And it went on for an ENDLESS God Damned 181 minutes, half of which were FLUFF and SOAP OPERA CRAP and sure were not needed.

Go to Wikipedia and look up what the REAL Enrico Fermi looked like. He was bald as a boiled egg. He is played by a guy with more hair than a damned poodle.

Look up Oppenheimer's wife. She is played by an attractive actress. THE REAL wife's face was not just plain, but ugly.

ANd so on

I bet it will get a bunch of STUPID OSCARS Too.
