Strongly recommend- 4-5 stars submitted by Kerrie Ferrell on April 23, 2024, 8:22pm This is the story of a female in flight, struggling against the elements to reach a place of safety and solace. Her ingenious resourcefulness to survive the wilderness by herself, her steadfast determination propelled the character forward, walking every day, as she recalls the more genteel moments of her life before coming to the US colonies. May seem slow, but this is a more powerful book that it initially appears and leaves a haunting after -effect on the reader.
