Excellent addition to the Maggie D'arcy series submitted by vickik on July 2, 2023, 11:02am A former Long Island police detective, Maggie D'arcy has moved to Dublin and lives with her boyfriend Conor, her teenage daughter Lilly, and Conor's son Adrien. She has recently finished her training as an Irish Guard and works as a neighborhood patrol cop until she can be promoted to detective. While she and her police partner are patrolling, they receive a call that the body of model and reality TV star Jade Elliot has been found, and Jade's two-year-old daughter is missing. Maggie joins the team of detectives working on the case, as she works to find the missing child and discover who killed Jade. This is a wonderful series with excellent characterization. The mystery takes many twists and turns, and the killer is hard to guess. This book stands on its own, as it represents a new beginning in Maggie's life, and it is highly recommended. It makes you want to go to Dublin! But if you want to learn more about Maggie and her background, I'd suggest you start with the first book in the series, The Mountains Wild.
