Fantastic! submitted by ValerieL on July 11, 2023, 6:38pm I love this series! It's become one of my favorite cozy series. I read this in two days and loved every second of it. There's a new sheriff in town (well, chief of police, but same difference) and he's not familiar with Emily or the rest of the people in town. He gives Emily and the others a lot of grief, including not doing his job correctly and then trying to gaslight Emily stating something wasn't on the scene that was. I don't like him but we'll see how it goes in future books. I actually thought he might be the killer because he was so nasty!

Aside from the new chief, I loved all the characters. I did not figure out the villain before the reveal tho' I had some suspicion that SOMEthing was off with them. The rapport between the rest of the characters keeps the book interesting and keeps you engaged. The plot line felt original and not overdone. All in all it was a fantastic new installment in this series!
