Underwhelming submitted by danzoia on August 6, 2023, 2:30pm The national is my favorite band, but this album the tunes just didn’t click for me the same way past albums have. The use of drum machines on many tracks also seems to wipe away their biggest advantage, loud bombastic drums that were recorded amazingly.
