Chiefly illustrations.
"Eighth grader Drew Ellis recognizes that he isn't afforded the same opportunities, no matter how hard he works, that his privileged classmates at the Riverdale Academy Day School take for granted, and to make matters worse, Drew begins to feel as if his good friend Liam might be one of those privileged kids and is finding it hard not to withdraw, even as their mutual friend Jordan tries to keep their group of friends together."-- Provided by publisher.

Even better submitted by Xris on June 12, 2023, 2:44pm Even better than the first two! Great about sticking up for your friends when they're being discriminated against. Loved the little bits to the illustrations that added to it, too. Like where they were selling banned books with an author signing them, they were also selling picket signs. Great representation for folks of color!

Read all three! submitted by Marian on June 13, 2023, 11:31am I love all three books (New Kid, Class Act, and now School Trip). I read each one at least twice when I first got them, and have re-read them again since. This one's got at least three references back to the earlier ones, including the sign in the banned book store window announcing that Jerry Craft would be visiting the store! Check out Miss Brickner's stealth procurement of banned books - the two that the black-clad librarians drop while escaping were New Kid and Class Act. Lots of humor along with serious issues.

School Trip submitted by abrownri on July 1, 2023, 2:16pm A good book about a class trip

Well done graphic novel submitted by lauracmcinnis on July 28, 2023, 4:11pm This book completes the new kid trilogy. Jerry Craft is an amazing artist and tells a heartfelt and funny coming of age story. I found myself smiling throughout!
