COMMUNITY REVIEWS

R.I.P submitted by tarascon on June 20, 2023, 12:37pm The first installment was better but this one smells of shareholders cashing in on a fine actor’s death and the further cultural appropriation by a, let’s face it, white studio system. Furthermore, there are a number of good films which celebrate Negritude without portraying it as a monoculture.

I dislike the Marvel movies I’d seen in the past (like most Hollywood studios, the MCU both helped create and maintains the ADD plague of our time) but decided to give this one the benefit of the doubt… One hour and a number of curiously tedious fight sequences later I gave up. Even Angela Bassett couldn’t save this thing. And throwing cash at the FX department never guarantees a good movie.
Best leave this sleeping dog lie.

A little long submitted by Krystal on June 24, 2023, 2:17pm Not bad for a sequel, but not as goid or as fresh as the original. It felt a little too long

Disappointing submitted by kaymbre on July 5, 2023, 7:37am I was really looking forward to revisiting Wakanda. This movie was a let down. The story felt muddy. At times there was too much and too little going on. On top of all that, I just had a hard time following the dialog at times. Now that it is on Disney+, I might try again with subtitles on. Perhaps that will help. Not a terrible movie, just less than what I had hoped.
