Fun, and Educational submitted by teri on June 29, 2023, 9:32am Our young 6 year old was fascinated by this book - wanting to hear every word of the text. Even a slight familiarity with the Antarctic explorations ( as an adult), helps in explaining some of the adventures. And knowing that the cat mentioned in the book - "Mrs. Chippy" - did indeed travel on the Endurance with Sir Ernest Shackleton, is a nice added fact.
If you want to learn more about Mrs. Chippy, read " Mrs. Chippy's Last Expedition: The Remarkable Journal of Shackleton's Polar-Bound Cat"- a delightful historical fiction book that tells the true story of Shackleton's adventure through a cat's eyes!
