Good way to identify words and objects submitted by mhastings on July 9, 2013, 10:56am Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever is a nice way to help children identify which words go with with objects. For children who are just beginning to speak, there are hundreds of things (objects, actions, and people) to point out while saying the word. For older children getting ready to read, it is helpful as each word is written next to the picture of that word. There are minimal stories on each page, usually consisting of a few sentences to set the scene. For longer stories (several pages per story), try Richard Scarry's What Do People Do All Day.
