Another Gem in AADL's French Collection submitted by CarolSeidl on January 3, 2023, 10:39pm This graphic novel is beautifully illustrated by one of the best-known African comic artists, Barly Baruti. The storyline is intriguing but the actual scenario was a bit light. Maybe this is typical of most graphic novels but I wish the author, Christophe Cassiau-Haurie, had added more details. I was continually wondering how much of the story was true and how much was invented. The final pages, études et recherches, clarify a lot but even here, I would have appreciated more information.

I feel so fortunate to have found this book on the AADL shelves. Baruti's artwork is of the highest caliber, I learned some new French military terms, and contemplated an aspect of WWI that I've not previously been exposed to.
