Excellent Account of Another Sad Part of U.S. History submitted by apf1950 on April 5, 2023, 3:25pm Delmont is a history professor at Dartmouth. He examines Blacks veterans both in terms of their status in the segregated armed services and their treatment off-base. These conditions were part of the Double-V campaign: victory over fascism and victory over racism. The thing that surprised me most was reading about Langston Hughes as a war correspondent starting during the Spanish Civil War of the 1930s.
