Classic short stories submitted by amy on August 8, 2019, 9:41am Some of the best and most famous American short stories ever, told in a lovely and oblique way by a former WWII soldier and Buddhist who became a famous recluse. Salinger wrote about what gets lost in a world driven by materialism and ego and his stories are still relevant, maybe even moreso, today.

A lasting book submitted by robynegg on July 14, 2023, 9:05am I first read this in high school, where it really resonated. Decades later, I've reread it multiple times and it still resonates. Far better than catcher in the rye.
