"Three teenagers - Natalia, Jax, and Rashad - are magically transported from their modern lives to the legendary Stonewall Inn in the summer of 1969. Escorted by Natalia's eccentric abuela (and her pet cockatiel, Rocky), the friends experience the police raid firsthand and are thrown into the infamous riots that made the struggle for LGBTQ rights front-page news."-- Page 4 of cover.

The subject deserves a better treatment submitted by FordAlpha on July 10, 2023, 11:08pm I wanted this to be interesting, engaging, insightful -- as history comics for kids can be -- and to help me better understand an important event and movement that I never heard about in school. Unfortunately, this particular comic is just really, really badly written. The characters aren't fleshed out at all, there's little explanation of the historical characters we meet, the dialogue is wooden and repetitive, and the plot is packed with non sequiturs large and small. I do appreciate that the details of the plot and setting and the definitions provided in the back are age-appropriate; I just wish that the story were better written! (Less importantly, the art is also lackluster. The characters' expressions sometimes don't make sense. I quickly got annoyed by the cheekbone highlights painted the same way on every character in every frame regardless of lighting or emotion.)
