For years, rumors of the 'Marsh Girl' have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So, in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Excellent re-telling of the book submitted by purchasingqueen on August 26, 2022, 7:24pm This film stayed very true to the book, which I enjoyed. So many times much of the book is either left out, changed or cut for time in a filmed version of a book. This story was inclusive and true to the book. The actors, none of them big names, were all believable characters. The marsh, a main 'character' of the book, was beautifully filmed. Definitely recommend this film, whether you read the book or not. Good story.

Great watch submitted by bcarlson4 on October 2, 2022, 2:19am This movie was great. I have not read the book so I can’t say how it compares, but overall, it is a great film all on its own. The story, the acting, the filming— it took me 3 nights to watch this because I can only manage about 30 minutes of tv before I can’t keep my eyes open at the end of the day lol but I looked forward to getting settled at the end of the day & being able to turn this on to see what was next.

Captivating to watch submitted by llee on December 7, 2022, 11:16pm I remember the book being a difficult read, so my expectations for the movie were low. However, I'm so glad that I watched this! Held my attention the whole time!

The story was beautifully told about this little girl who was abandoned and left to fend for herself. Life is cruel enough, but add to that an entire community that turned its back on her... not many could've survived.

Kudos to the screenwriters for breathing life into this movie! Highly recommend!
