When his young daughter's beloved companion, an android named Yang, malfunctions, Jake searches for a way to repair him. In the process, Jake discovers the life that has been passing in front of him, reconnecting with his wife and daughter across a distance he didn't know was there.

Smart movie submitted by brooksza on August 15, 2022, 11:32am Contemplative movie about what makes us human, what gives us culture and makes us part of a family. It gives a new meaning to "refurbished".

Dense with ideas about technology, humanity and surveillance. Good movie in the line of Ex Machina, A.I., Westworld and others.

Visually unique and there's some stuff that will stick out to me, like a door opening with people appearing outside on both sides. Great opening credits but I'm not sure how they fit. Lots of butterfly imagery.

Not a ton of story, but a look at Yang's backstory and some of the other characters.
