A Bit of Throwbacks submitted by Meginator on June 13, 2023, 11:39pm I’m not sure what the band intended the album title to mean, but I couldn’t listen to these tracks without thinking about the way that they deliberately incorporate historical styles of pop, soul, and rock. These songs are filled with musical callbacks, yet they always feel fresh and new given the band’s complex, full instrumental arrangements and their use of both male and female vocals to alter the tone of the music. This is the kind of album that has an amazing, welcome surprise on every track, and I highly recommend giving it your full attention because of all the wonderful nuances it holds.
