Very Personal, Somewhat Experimental submitted by Meginator on August 20, 2022, 5:58pm This album is at once in harmony with the band’s previous discography and somewhat of a departure, with a lot of seemingly experimental tracks and moments of silence interspersed among an eclectic mix of more traditional songs. The songwriting is incredibly personal and moving at times, while still being effective indie-pop, although I wasn’t sure what to make of all the interstitial pieces. Experimental yet still (mostly) enjoyable to listen to, this feels like the kind of album that is slightly overrated by critics yet still fairly approachable for the masses.
